B L K D N M & Krug Champagne

Wednesday night BLK DNM gathered downtown’s finest at their pop-up store Pop 1 in NYC. BLK DNM is the newest venture by Swedish designer Johan Lindeberg, formerly of Diesel, J. Lindeberg and Justin Timberlake’s denim line William Rast. The mostly black-clad set milled around 237 Lafayette Street admiring the line and sipping champagne. The event was in honor of the first issue of the BLK DNM Gazette 1, a 30-page magazine edited by stylist Aleksandra Woroniecka featuring the works of artist Terence Koh, jewelry designer Waris Ahluwalia and director Wes Anderson. Following the event Krug Champagne hosted an intimate dinner for the brand at New York’s Indochine restaurant. Joining Johan Lindeberg and Aleksandra Woroniecka were Waris Ahluwalia, nightlife and art world don Andre Saraiva, artist Dustin Yellin and Interview Magazine’s Nate Lowman. Krug’s partnership with BLK DNM comes as a result of Krug’s commitment to the twin doctrines of “freedom” and “excellence” according to Krug Business Director, Carl Heline. Krug has always benefitted from the free mindset that Joseph Krug needed to transcend the traditional rules of blending to create the richest and most generous champagne: Krug Grande Cuvee. BLK DNM in turn is also freeing itself from the conventional ways of launching a new fashion line and allowing for true creativity through the BLK DNM Gazette. Freedom and excellence aside, the champagne is amazing and so was the evening. More pics below…
