Speaking of the fabulously talented Maalouf brothers, my old friend and favorite make up artist Elie Maalouf launched a beauty line last year with his brothers, Johnny, George and Joey (who is also Rachel Zoe‘s trusted hair and make up artist). A few years ago they opened a super successful salon in Birmingham, Michigan and last year debuted a small but growing collection of beauty supplies and products. I am so proud of Elie!! I remember struggling in NYC together for years when we first started out in the fashion industry. He and I began working together while I was still assisting Polly Mellen and he was assisting Dick Page. For years he was the only make up artist I worked with and I miss living in the same zip code.
