This week kicks off the festivities for the 54th Venice Biennale, a contemporary art festival that’s been going on since 1895. The festival takes place every two years and opens officially this Saturday through November 27th, 2011. Eighty-nine countries have come to show off works by 83 artists in 29 permanent pavilions and my friend (and new contributor) Georgiana Moreton is there to cover some of the fun things going on.
