Let’s be honest, Coachella is as much about the music as it is about fashion and there is nothing more important about that weekend then what you put on your feet. Fiorentini & Baker have been making some of the best boots this side of the desert (or really THAT side of the ocean since they come from London originally) for more years than some of us care to remember. Second to what’s on your feet is sunscreen and dresses! I live in dresses year round and especially at Coachella. I love a dress with the perfectly beat up pair of brown leather boots.
Above, a Miss Selfridge maxi dress, LOFT striped fedora, Jimmy Choo suede bag, Topshop scarf, Lovely Bird floppy hat, and Marni sunglasses. Also, if you plan on bringing a camera make sure it’s a point and shoot without a huge lense. They changed their policy on cameras a couple of years ago (and some of us didn’t get the message until we got to the gate, which was a huge pain the arse but that’s a whole other long story…) Anyway, this is my new camera fixation, the Fujifilm XF1 Digital.
It wouldn’t be a sweaty day in the desert without some products to help hide the reality. My new beauty go to for all occasions, La Roche Posay Anthelios 50 Daily Anti Aging Primer with SPF 50 Sunscreen. It is genius. Goes on silky smooth and doesn’t make me break out, plus the sunscreen is an added bonus, though you will definitely need a huge bottle of that as well for the weekend. And water… water water water…
For sunscreen all over, grab a big bottle of La Roche Posay Ultra-Light Anthelio 30 lotion spray. Its got protection against both UVA & UVB and it’s alcohol free (unlike everything and everyone else around you at Coachella…) and it is VERY water resistant.
Don’t forget about your lips. Between the sun, the booze, and the long hike to and from your car to the fields, they will be quenched unless you come seriously prepared with some deep moisturizing action like Kaplan MD’s lip treatment with SPF 20 and all kinds of anti-aging magic.
