Fall Reading List

womeninclothes

The Women In Clothes book is top of the list. It goes in depth on how the way we dress affects our lives and what clothing means to women all over the world including the likes of Miranda July, Cindy Sherman, Lena Dunham, Molly Ringwald, and Roxane Gay, whose own book The Bad Feminist is also a must read for a bad feminist like me who wants to wear her stilettos to a political protest. I just started Shannon Galpin’s book about her travels through Afghanistan on a bike in Mountain To Mountain. She left her job and daily life to devote herself to advancing education for women and girls around the world. Susan Strecker’s Night Blindness was a fun lazy Saturday read this weekend as well. Great storytelling and nice twists. Rizzoli is releasing Dior Perfumes, a bio of the man himself with a focus on the timeline of the house’s fragrances starting with the first Miss Dior in 1947, by fragrance critic Chandler Burr and a beautiful book on fashion muse Loulou de la Falaise by Ariel de Ravenel and Natasha Fraser, packed with images and interviews, both out this October.
