Ok, so there is nothing holiday related in the photo above (though it may have been taken in November) and it wasn’t even taken in West Hollywood yet there is something festive about it to me. Well, at least the dress (YSL, circa 2003) and the girl (Brazilian Karolina I think, she was with now long defunct Vision Models at the time) are both hot, right? And Milk & Honey in NYC, which is where this was taken ages ago, was festive in its heyday too! Anyway, I really know how to wander around my point this week don’t I? ‘Tis the season for holiday shopping and blatant disregard for ones financial state so feel free to ignore your credit card bills and head over to Melrose Avenue for fashion, food and fun. Next Wednesday December 7th, 6pm to 10pm, select retailers on Melrose Avenue from Robertson to Orlando are doing all kinds of holiday events and extending their store hours for the evening. The participating retailers are not too shabby either and include Alberta Ferretti, Alpha, Arcade Boutique, Beckley, Blumera, BOA Gallery, Chocolate Sun, Faruy’Art 1969, J Gerard Design Studio, John Varvatos, Kitson Melrose, Makeup Mandy, Nicky Rising, Shalimar’s Apothecary of Scent, Soolip Paperie & Press and others. If you get hungry between purchases and schlepping bags there will also be a ton of food trucks parked along the route including Nom Nom, Global Soul, Bollywood Bites, Holy Aioli, Pranzo Gourmet Sandwiches, Canter’s and Sugar Babies.
