Whiskey Girls

Allison Patel is one of those cool girls that just kind of gets it. There’s really no other way to put it, I adore her. So when she suggested we do a Whiskey tasting with her company Local Infusions of course I said YES!!! On the last official evening of fashion week we decided to try some of her favorites and compare notes on what tastes the best while munching on snacks from Murray’s on Bleecker (OMG I miss NY so much sometimes…) Allison started Local Infusions after seeing a “need in the whisky industry that, as a consumer, I had been waiting to be filled for years and frankly was tired of waiting!” So she decided to quit her job in the fashion industry and fill those needs herself. Her company specialize in whiskies from non-traditional countries (i.e. NOT Scotch, Irish or Canadian whiskies) and she has also started developing her own whiskey which will take a while to get going in the states but alas, the thought is out there and I can’t wait for the day when we have an Allison whisky to swig. Below are our favorites from the evening (which needless to say became a bit of a blur after a while just like the photo above…) The Catoctin Creek Organic Roundstone Rye was my favorite so of course there is no decent photo of that one… McKenzie Bourbon and Balcones tied for second place…
