Fall Reading List

These are the next few books on my reading list, though I’m halfway through Katie Roiphe‘s new book of essays, In Praise of Messy Lives, and am already in love with her. I like her honesty and the way she approaches subjects which so many people shy away from and I love the Jane Austen chapter. A.M. Homes‘ new book May We Be Forgiven, her first in six years, also just came out and she will be at Skylight Books in Los Feliz signing books on Wednesday, Oct 10th at 7:30 pm. And if you are in NY this week, Artists Space is hosting the book launch and reading for Chris Kraus‘ new book Summer of Hate on October 2nd at 7pm. The novel sounds pretty interesting, it’s about a young girl knee deep in the art world who goes on a break to Albuquerque after waking up from a “near-death sex game.” Adventures abound, etc. 38 Greene Street, 3rd Floor, NYC, 212-226-3970.
