Balmain Resort 2013

I heart Olivier Rousteing. I got distracted last week by couture and a couple of shoots (oh and boy troubles, did I mention boy troubles?) so missed seeing this collection though it showed earlier this month in Paris. Anyway, the resort 2013 collection from Balmain cheered me up. Gorgeous beyond words. I am so obsessed with all the black and white stripes, checks and patterns and all those pastels. I bought a great black and white striped blazer in New York that I’ve been wearing non stop for the last few weeks. More beautiful below… Continue reading

Telesca, Hudson Valley

I have always been envious of anyone who has a natural touch at interior design which I’ve never really had. Meagan Camp, a talented prop/interior stylist from the Hudson Valley, is one of those people. Aside from pulling together beautiful shoots for a myriad of print and online publications and clients Meagan recently opened a small shop in the Hyde Park Antiques Center (which of course is near Bard… I’m just saying, any excuse to wax poetic about my old stomping ground). Telesca started off as a jewelry line of reworked antique and vintage parts, and as of this past February, has Continue reading

About Face, Timothy Greenfield Sanders

I saw Timothy Greenfield Sanders‘ amazing documentary “About Face, Supermodels Then and Now” at Sundance in January and was so moved by it. It was the first time I heard anyone in the fashion industry take any remote responsibility for 70’s model Gia‘s decline. There were so many amazing moments in the film, it was awe inspiring to watch these gorgeous women at every age and listen to their stories about our industry, which has changed so much and yet not at all. There are some shocking and sad stories but also joyful ones, packed with rare archival footage. If you get the chance, I highly recommend seeing it. The film premieres Monday July 30th on HBO, trailer below. Continue reading

InStyle Fashion Videos on You Tube

I styled and directed a couple of fashion videos for InStyle magazine’s new YouTube channel, which just went up online. Justin Coloma, who edited the last music video I styled & directed shot and edited these two as well. He himself is also a music video director who has worked with some incredible people including Peter Murphy (!!) I love working with Justin, he has a great sensibility and is always fun and easy to collaborate with. We had a blast shooting at my friend Leon‘s house, who kindly let us take over his gorgeous house in the hills for the day. The other video, along with clothing credits and the bag I fell in love with during the shoot are all below… Continue reading

The XX, New Album, Coexist, New Track, Angels

The XX have a new album coming out this fall, September 11th to be exact on Young Turks records, and Angels is one of the new tracks. I love their ethereal whispy sound, and am obsessed with this new track. The tour starts in LA and ends in Baltimore. How appropriate, though for me it’s the other way around. Tour dates below… Continue reading

Alexia Landeau, 2 Days in New York

There’s a great interview with Alexia Landeau in WWD today. I saw the film, “2 Days in Paris,” which she co-wrote and co-stars in with Julie Delpy, at Sundance this year and fell in love with it. It’s the follow up to the 2007 “2 Days in Paris” in which she also plays Julie’s sister. It opens in August. Photograph by Lexi Moreland.
