I’ve been shooting a lot this past week, Sunday I photographed Estella and this week I am in San Francisco working on a young designer‘s lookbook (photos to come next week from both shoots) so I’m constantly thinking about comfortable looks that are stylish but allow me to work freely on set. I love these Balmain jeans with a striped knit pullover under a Topshop blazer. The Ralph Lauren riding boots are the perfect flat shoe to top it all off without sacrificing style for comfort.
Newly obsessed with this Spanish line Hoss Intropia that is making a big push in the states. They sell at various stores and boutiques and will likely be opening up a free standing boutique here sometime in the next couple of years. In the meantime you can find their collection online. It’s a boho chic, easy to layer vibe with affordable prices. I love their girl friendly energy and appreciation of multi-talented, multi-hyphenated women. The next segment in the Twilight series opens November 18th which is as good excuse as any to post some photos I took in 2009 of Nikki Reed in Los Angeles. She was such a sweet gal to work with, I love running into her around town and can’t wait to see what she does after Twilight. I loved her debut in Thirteen which I saw years ago at Sunshine Cinema in NYC the day it opened. Some films just kind of stay with you and that was definitely one of them. I’m completely obsessed with these bug bags from Matthew Campbell Laurenza who has been doing his jewelry line since 1998. I saw them for the first time this week while pulling for a client and got totally fixated. He sells all over the world and this marks his foray into the world of handbags and clutches. They go on sale at Gilt Group next week.
Last night was the 2nd Annual Autumn Party on the rooftop of The London Hotel. Me and my friend Estella Warren (who I also style) went together to watch the Spring Summer 2012 Yigal Azrouel runway show and help support all of the great work that Children’s Institute, Inc does along with Rochelle Gores Fredston, the founder of Philanthropic Society Los Angeles and owner of one of LA’s coolest places to shop, Arcade Boutique in West Hollywood. Rochelle hosted the event along with a slew of other great sponsors and guests including Nicole Richie, Lauren Conrad, Amy Smart, Rumor Willis and Lydia Hearst. I just got a whif of Tom Ford‘s new fragrance. It has the spicy jasmine vibe a lot of the perfumes he has launched over the years do so will surely be a hit with fans. Scents are very personal so while I appreciate the sexy musky life of this one it’s not something I myself would wear (I love the design of the bottle though!) Violet Blonde combines Violet Leaf with tones of Orris, Iris flower root and Jasmine Sambac and is available at Saks and Nordstrom’s.
