I want to sleep in these Skull Cashmere fingerless gloves I just got. I think this may be the best pair of gloves I have ever owned, not kidding. Soft and lush, I am terrified of losing them the way you do with most gloves. I may just have to wear them around the house. More gift giving ideas below. Louise Bourgeois, Suspension

Louise Bourgeois died just five months shy of her 100th birthday in 2010. Until the day she died she created work that still blows everyone, myself included, out of the water, even if it weighs a ton. Cheim & Read just opened a show of her hanging works, which will be up through January 2015. The exhibition spans forty five years of sculpture along with drawings from the 1940s.

Last week I launched my new website so inevitably I started going through all kinds of files as I was gathering new work. I also bought a new scanner, which makes it inevitable that I may have to start scanning all those negatives my friends keep telling me I have to scan. Boo. Billy Name, The Silver Age

Andy Warhol cohort and legendary Factory photographer Billy Name has a new book coming out in December from Reel Art Press. The Silver Age is packed with iconic black and white photography from NY’s famed period, when there were still no 7-Elevens to be found anywhere on the island and art world cynicism wasn’t just a marketing campaign. This massive volume covers 1964-68 with images of the usual suspects we can’t get enough of and obsess over: Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground, Nico, Edie Sedgwick and Bob Dylan. Put this on the gift list for young and old alike.
