Dior‘s Raf Simmons presented his resort 2015 collection in Brooklyn last week, just a few days after the opening of Dior, The Legendary Images, an exhibition of photographs from Dior history taken by some of the world’s best fashion photographers, which opened May 3rd at the Musee Christian Dior in Granville, France. The show will be up through September 29th and Rizzoli is releasing the accompanying book of images, edited by Florence Muller, in June. Dior Resort 2015 below. Project Shoe

Project Shoe asked me to try their new website and design my own pair so obviously I went straight to the site to play around. Admit it, you’ve thought about being a shoe designer and how awesome it would be to toy with all those patterns and prints so this is the perfect DIY project. They have a slew of different styles to start with, though I immediately went for the lace up oxford heels, and a ton of great colors, patterns, prints and materials including pony hair and faux snakeskin (though I wish they would add camouflage to the mix, that was the only thing missing for me). I ended up ordering a floral polka dot mash up (below) but not before creating all the combos I could think of. Continue reading →

The Row

One of the most beautiful retail spaces I have seen in a long time and a gorgeous line to go with it. Mary Kate and Ashley are opening their first retail store for their simply chic line The Row, which is now in its 10th year. The store opens tomorrow at 8440 Melrose Place. Erica McIntire, UnRetouched

Erica McIntire has a fabulous imagination. Although she studied acting and writing, it’s the images she creates with iPhone apps on her Instagram account that show off her quirky cool eye and got me inspired to collaborate. I thought it would be fun to see what she would do with a fashion shoot; I photograph and style as usual and she “paints” on the final images. Erica was up for it so I borrowed some clothes from a few of my favorite designers and then Erica and I took over a friend’s house outside of LA for the day. Erica is gorgeous and I love her fearless attitude about her body so the images are not retouched. Above, Erica in a swimsuit by Tory Burch with heels by Aldo. More from our shoot below. There was no hair and make up on set, Erica managed that side of our story.
