Levi’s Vintage Orange Tab Collection, Party in Your Pants

Levis hat blanket

Levi’s is known for throwing great parties and this past Saturday they did not disappoint. In the hot hills of Topanga they created an old school 70s style music festival, decked out in cool graphics, to celebrate the launch of their Orange Tab vintage collection, which is inspired by their own archives. With friends, whiskey, beer and music galore we spent the afternoon eating and dancing to great tunes from 1972. It was a super fun day, and you know I have nothing but love for my Levi’s gals all day every day, but especially when they spoil us so. Pics from the day below. Continue reading

Hayward Clutch

First, let’s just say it, my friends are hot and they have gorgeous legs that look even hotter in shorts. And heels. Same goes for this Hayward clutch, from Marin Hopper’s bag collection. I fell in love with it last weekend on a boat party we went to for my friend’s 40th birthday. Pic from the boat below… Continue reading

Hotel Bel Air La Prairie Spa, Estancia Wine

NOREEN BW 12

Spa treatments, wine and oysters. Whoever came up with that genius marketing event deserves a medal, or at the least a hug and kiss from me. Last night at the La Prairie spa in the Bel Air Hotel a group of LA’s fashion and beauty fanatics (*and a few of our favorite journalists) came out to try some of the new and tried and true beauty treatments the spa has to offer. I tried the Estancia Vinotherapy mask, which spa director Helen Storer came up with, and left my skin literally glowing. Their infamous esthetician Nerida Joy “was named one of the nations ‘Top 15 Facialists’ with clients including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jennifer Garner, Tyra Banks, Kate Beckinsdale, and Isla Fisher.” I also fell in love with Rhonda who did the most amazing scrub on my legs and Jojo, who did a beautiful last minute manicure (yes, I tried everything, including the oysters and wine!) It was a fun evening and a great way to start the night, which ended at Levi’s Haus for a party with The National to celebrate their new documentary “Mistaken for Strangers,” which I am dying to see and missed the screening of last night. Pics from last night and Helen’s at home recipes for masks and facials below. Continue reading

Ruthie Davis and John Bartlett Collaborate

davis-bartlett
Speaking of cool prints and great inspiration… WWD announced today that animal lover designers Ruthie Davis and John Bartlett are releasing a line of cruelty-free accessories and designs “made from sustainable and vegan materials that bear Bartlett’s signature “Tiny Tim” print, a colorful motif of the designer’s beloved three-legged pit bull who died in 2010… The shoes will retail for $398 to $698 and will be available in late January at ruthiedavis.com and johnbartlettny.com, as well as select specialty retailers. Ten percent of sales will go to Bartlett’s Tiny Tim Rescue Fund, which provides resources to organizations that help treat and find homes for shelter animals.” Love!

Abstract Inspiration

I woke up thinking about California born painter Michael Bevilacqua, and the Russian duo Dubossarsky & Vinogradov and felt inspired to pull together threads and accessories with great prints which, remind me of their work in an abstract way. It’s not a clean line from inspiration to product but who says it has to be? That’s why it’s called inspiration. They all create paintings that are a sexy cool blend of abstract, modern and street art. Above, a Mary Katrantzou clutch, Dolce Gabbana blouse, Flower District retro bootie, and Carven collage print wool skirt. Paintings below. Continue reading
