I watched Pretty in Pink (one of the best films ever made, RIP John Hughes) again for the 100th time last weekend and as usual got inspired by all the great fashion in the film. Did John Hughes invent flower print socks? It kind of feels that way. Miss Selfridge nude 3D prom dress, Madewell outbound olive jacket, Harrow lace up oxford, Celeste Stein flower socks (the best), Gucci wide brimmed felt hat, and Linda Farrow acetate and snakeskin sunglasses and of course The Psychedelic Furs’ “Pretty in Pink” track on 12″ vinyl. “Let’s plow.” Continue reading →

Goldfrapp, Tales of Us

Mute Records is releasing Goldfrapp‘s sixth album, Tales Of Us, on September 10th. Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory wrote and recorded the album over the last two years at their studio outside of London. So excited! Love their sound! Ladies, breathe a sigh of relief, all is well in the world. Our favorite ” je ne sais quoi” designer, Isabel Marant is finally doing a collaboration with H&M, which means that everyone aside from fashion editors and LA actresses can afford her clothes for a few months. The full collection will be available and online in 250 stores worldwide starting November 14th, 2013, and “will feature clothing and accessories for women and teenagers, as well as Isabel Marant’s first-ever collection for men.” Brilliant.
