It may sound like the opening of my diary but it’s not. Lauren Weisberger, the author of the infamous Devil Wears Prada novel has a new book out this week. I remember very clearly when Prada came out sitting across from another editor bitching about how dare this girl write a novel about simply paying ones dues in an industry after working somewhere for all of three months. It was a relatively uncomplicated read which I finished cover to cover in the scope of a weekend and when the film came out I admittedly loved every guilty minute. Especially the scene with the steak as it recalled a myriad of my own assisting moments but alas, that is a different story. I am looking forward to this one solely on the title alone which I believe will be the victim of a swift movie rights sale immediately if not sooner. I imagine we will see this one in theaters within two years starring Jennifer Lawrence who by then will likely have given up her reign as the new indie kid in town. Last Night At Chateau Marmont is out in bookstores tomorrow August 31, 2010.
