I don’t ever tire of revisiting his work and story. There seems to always be something new to say about Jean Michel Basquiat, the beautiful art he created and his tragic end. His story is sad for the obvious reasons: another old soul talented artist lost to senseless drug addiction and overdose. But it also makes me sublimely happy to know he existed and left so much intense and jarring work to look at. Thanks to Tamra Davis for making this new documentary. “The Radiant Child” opens Friday August 20th at Nuart.
