Yohji Yamamoto

Yohji Yamamoto’s show during Paris Fashion Week was always one of my favorite highlights. It was usually at the start of the week so would set the tone for me. I always loved the poetic presentations and thoughtful lines and draping of his silhouettes with the slightest touch of punk rock sensibility. “My Dear Bomb,” Yohji Yamamoto‘s first biography authorized and authored by the man himself along with Ai Mitsuda, is being published by Ludion in June of this year. The volume includes meditations on clothing and life with Yamamoto’s memories and anecdotes, illustrated with drawings by Yamamoto himself. His Fall 2011 collection is below. A retrospective show of Yamamoto’s work opens tomorrow and will be on view at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum from March 12th through July 10th, 2011. www.artbook.com
