Lindsay Lohan & Richard Phillips at Gagosian

“Lindsay has an incredible emotional and physical presence on screen that holds an existential vulnerability, while harnessing the power of the transcendental—the moment in transition. She is able to connect with us past all of our memory and projection, expressing our own inner eminence.

Well said Richard Phillips. Precisely why the girl will have an easy come back once she decides to really and finally sort herself out and god forbid doesn’t kill herself in the grueling process. I am hoping for the best because A) I have a soft spot for young hot messes because seeing this business up close explains a lot and B) I genuinely think she’s a great actress and really love watching her on screen. Gagosian Gallery will present Richard Phillips’ first short film “Lindsay Lohan,” which will be included in Commercial Break, presented by the Moscow-based Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Venice, June 1st through 5th, during the 54th Biennale di Venezia. Also, I’m excited to announce we will have a contributing writer reporting from the Biennale so stay tuned for lots of art events going on some place I want to be but can’t (again) this year.
