LA artist Patrick Lee has a new show of drawings opening this weekend at Western Project. I am totally digging the simple yet intricately detailed images and his effort to “mine the transient and elusive definitions of masculinity”. Love it. Kind of reminds me of this photograph I took below of a Georgian birthday boy ten years ago in Russia. Lee takes photographs of men on the streets of America then creates composites from a slew of those images to create his detailed hand done sketches.
