LA is a small town. And I don’t mean in the metaphorical sense as in “everybody knows everybody”. That part is obviously true and goes without saying. I mean it’s a small town as in Main Street small. So when something big happens, it feels as though everyone participates. For all the bull**** (and there is a lot of it!) that takes place in our “industry”, be it fashion or entertainment or both, it somehow feels worth it when it culminates in a night like the Golden Globes or Oscars. I was never a big fan of award shows living in NYC if truth be told. So I’m not sure if living in LA full time the past few years has resulted in me inadvertently drinking the kool aid or if it’s just seeing it up close and personal that is kind of moving. All the hard work, the running around and pulling it together, whether it’s for a client attending or for a party being thrown or the awards ceremony itself, or just watching my amazing friends who throw the best party in town year after year, it is really a ton of fun and fantastic to participate on any level.
