So much good food, so little room. The 4th LA Food & Wine Festival took place last weekend in downtown LA where we ate and drank too much. I went Thursday night (Common performed Saturday night, which I missed because I was already on my road trip, see above) and loved all the chefs especially Elia Aboumrad from Gorge who made chicken liver pate and rabbit rillette with house pickled baby trumpet royale mushrooms. Also there was Whispering Angel rose for miles. Chef Graham Elliot made fantastic Peruvian ceviche with miso-raisin puree, which I had Craig Becker from Somerston pair with one of his perfect wines. Tattoos and rose became the theme of the night, which I think is a perfect pairing as well. More below.
