I realize this is not a political blog per se, but to me everything is political including how we live our lives and the choices we make both in our personal and professional lives. So while I am making requests for gowns, jewelry and shoes for the upcoming awards season, I can’t ignore what is happening on the streets of America and I think it’s important to say out loud that I stand with the peaceful protesters hitting the streets all over the country, especially here in NYC after the Eric Garner decision was handed down last week. I am not here to change anyone’s mind, or to sway opinion, I am posting this simply to show my support, the way Dave Chappelle did December 4th while attending GQ’s annual Man Of The Year party at the Chateau Marmont. While I do believe the imbalance of power in this country runs deep for a lot of people, I still have hope that we can keep moving forward and making progress until the day the system works for everyone equally.
