There is a cute little tea cafe that opened up at 163 West 10th street a couple of months ago. Elena, the owner of Te NYC, is a Taiwanese born oolong tea lover who has studied and refined the hand picked tea buds she brews in the cafe. A couple of friends invited me to try the place last week and we were happily ensconced in the most aromatic and delicious teas I have ever tried as well as fresh salads and quiches, made to order. The food menu is small for now but constantly expanding with fresh organic farmers market ingredients bought locally. Ask them to make you the potato quiche and salad with yogurt dressing and tiny chopped pickled onions, which are not yet on the menu. They are open Tuesdays through Fridays 8am – 6pm and Saturdays and Sundays 9am – 6pm 929-335-3168.
