The Met, “Punk: Chaos to Couture”

Speaking of the punks and the Victorians, according to WWD today… “Next May, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute will stage “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” its big spring exhibition seeking to highlight the origins of the punk movement and draw direct connections to haute couture and ready-to-wear creations that it has inspired for the past three decades.” Isn’t it about time? This is by far my favorite fashion subject, this and the punks versus the socialites which is essentially the same topic for our modern times. The show will open to the public May 9th through August 11th and the gala will be May 6th. Rodarte 2008 above and vintage Siouxsie below…
