Cinespia Screenings

One of my favorite things to do in LA is go to the Hollywood Cemetery for Cinespia‘s Saturday night screenings. It’s something I have been doing for years when I am in LA during those great summer months and this Saturday they are screening John Huston‘s 1948 classic, “Treasure of the Sierra Madre” which I’ve never seen. Director Werner Herzog will be there in person to present the film which as it turns out is his favorite film. It’s also a benefit for the Japanese disaster relief effort and just an all around great excuse to pack a basket of food and wine, grab your blanket and sit under the stars watching a great film with friends. For those of you who have never been to the cemetery for screenings it’s the most harmless, calming and fun experience ever. There is a great energy on that big field where the films are screened. And no, no one is watching films on top of graves. Next Saturday they are screening Heathers! One of my all time favorite films. Ever.
