Gary Baseman at KK Gallery

Saturday night we went to the opening of LA-based artist Gary Baseman’s latest exhibition, “Nightmares of Halloweens Past,” at KK Gallery in Chinatown. I loved the work, which is a collection of found Halloween photos, most shown in their original formats, with a few select images blown up and enhanced by Baseman’s own painting (see above). Pretty rad. KK Gallery, 963 Chung King Road. I am also officially a new fan of Nightmare and The Cat who played a few songs during the opening.
