Allison Schulnik

Allison Schulnik is having a show at the Mark Moore Gallery opening on May 26th and running through July 7th. I like her work, it has a sort of deranged story telling vibe to it and the running theme of life and death which I love, the skulls and butterfly effect I am forever obsessed with. Mark Moore Gallery is at 5790 Washington Blvd, Culver City, (310) 453-3031. Also this Thursday May 3rd at 7:30pm her film “Mound” will screen at LACMA as part of their Female Surrealist exhibition.

Liberty of London & Dr. Marten’s

Liberty of London has done a collaboration with that bastion of old school cool Dr. Marten’s. I love all the colors and Liberty’s prints! Their first capsule collection features 10 styles and all the classics from high and low top. More fun below… Continue reading

Elles, Juliette Binoche

I saw the new film Elles starring Juliette Binoche directed by Malgoska Szumowska, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this week and focuses on a journalist (who could be anyone we know really) working on a story about young prostitutes. It’s a well done film, juxtaposing the ways we Continue reading

Charlotte Ronson Bags

Charlotte Ronson is doing bags this season and I fell in love with this one at the fall 2012 preview I went to last week. The bags hit stores in July and retail under $300.

ShoeMint with Rachel Bilson & Nicole Chavez

The ad campaign I styled for ShoeMint is finally out! One of the most fun days I’ve had on set, amazing team, gorgeous heels and I got to use some of my favorite designers, like the pleated Rubin Chapelle dress in the clip above and below as well as jewelry from Nola Singer who is having a trunk show tomorrow in Studio City. If you pay attention you can see me popping in and out of the video with Rachel & Nicole. It didn’t hurt that we were shooting at one of my favorite locations (PH64 at The Chateau is where I shot the Joe’s Jeans campaign in 2008 as well)… Continue reading

Nine West Fall 2012

I may have to reconsider the name of the blog because lately I am obesessing over flats. Love these leopard print slip on loafers from Nine West for fall. I can just see Jean Seberg wearing them down a street in Paris with a pair of cute trousers… I’d pair them with some striped jeans like the Current Elliot ones below or maybe some fun prints like this Rodarte sunflower dress (that like five people can afford) or the Dolce onion print dress (love!) or even a fun flower print from Elizabeth & James… Continue reading

Alexander Olch Ties

For all the men in my life who have been asking me to do more posts on men’s fashion (perhaps all of you could also oblige one of your cute friends for me to dress up?) I have been obsessing over Alexander Olch‘s Spring Summer 2012 ties which are available online at Mr. Porter and Park & Bond. If the next man I meet is wearing one of these I will instantly swoon and fall in love… Just saying.

A Sustainable Future

In 1988 when I was in the 10th grade I started The Recycling Club at my high school, the point of which was, recycling. It was not very cool back then, most of the kids (most, not all… there were about a dozen students who joined) thought I was crazy. My blue hair, torn fishnets and combat boots didn’t help I’m sure. Needless to say, back then it was a thankless task but one I believed in with all my heart and while the blue hair is long gone my belief in sustainability and protecting the environment still stands. So I get very excited when big brands like Levi’s and Patagonia practice what they preach, unlike certain publishing houses that produce Continue reading
