Pulp, Common People

In honor of Coachella weekend, a sweet remix of Pulp’s “Common People”. Pulp played last night on the main stage (I was not there but I imagine it was phenomenal) AarabMuzik who I die for is playing tomorrow Sunday April 15th at 5:50pm at Mojave. And tonight at 11pm is Radiohead who I hold close and dear to my hear for many reasons none of which I will list here. Ok Computer is still my favorite album of all time for all those reasons. Have a great safe weekend people!xox

Coachella Weekend Begins Now, What I’m Wearing

I am driving out to Coachella tomorrow and praying I miss the rain they promised for today. There are BBQs galore as usual; Mulberry, Burton and Lacoste are all hosting daytime shindigs on Saturday which we will hop around to and from. I am planning on going to see music Saturday night hopefully for Radiohead since I did my usual tradition of not buying a ticket (I have commitment issues, how can someone commit a year in advance to a date?) and leaving it to the universe to figure out where I am going at Coachella, when and how. I find it’s easier that way at a music festival. For the past four years I have gone at the last minute and seen all three days of bands without a Continue reading

G Star Raw Fall 2012

I saw the G Star Raw fall 2012 collection yesterday and was impressed with how wearable this collection is. Lots of great pieces with something for everyone, a ton of great basics that will carry from season to season. I fell in love with this blazer as well as the trench and a few of the coats. This was also the first season they did color denim and while that story may not be entirely new the colors I saw were fantastic (including a gorgeous lilac for boys, which I know sounds a bit much but it works, I swear!) Though the collection was inspired by the Twenties with some great vintage ideas throughout there was also a cool military vibe with beautiful leather and hardware touches, I especially loved the cavalry cape and coat. More of my favorite pieces below… Continue reading

Eight and a Half, Debut Album

To kick off Coachella weekend I got an email from Jessica Stroup this morning with a cool little video she stars in for Toronto based band Eight and a Half who released their debut self titled album this week. The band features members from childhood wonder friends The Stills and Broken Social Scene so you know its good. And Jessica looks amazing as usual.

Lamo Sheepskin Sandals

I got a pair of Lamo Sheepskin sandals (named the “Happy Hour”, go figure) that I am planning on living in when heels are not required. As the blog says this is champagne and HEELS so flats do not catch my attention often (aside from killer riding boots but that goes without saying) but these sandals are cushy and cozy yet still chic and sexy. And the soles feel like butter on my feet. Love it.

Kenny Scharf at Honor Fraser

Kenny Scharf is having an opening of new paintings, his first in a year, at Honor Fraser‘s gallery in Culver City this weekend Saturday April 14th. Ann Magnuson is also performing for those of you sticking around in town and not getting sweaty to the beat at Coachella. Rag & Bone on Madison Ave

I for one can never get enough of Rag & Bone so am thrilled they’re opening another boutique uptown on Madison Avenue somewhere in the 70’s from what I can tell by the old Chase Bank building photo. The store opens this Saturday so if you’re not doing the Woodstock thing in what promises to be a somewhat rainy Coachella go check out the new spot (and buy a blazer for me!)

Nylon Magazine Celebrates 13 Years

Last night was Nylon‘s 13th anniversary party which of course brought out the young and beautiful. It also gives me a good excuse to wax poetic about what a great editor Marvin Jarrett is. Marvin and I met in an elevator going down from Marek‘s agency in NY a few months before he launched Nylon, just after he sold his first two music magazines (Bikini was one of them, we read it in high school). Marvin has a knack for being more than a few steps ahead of the crowd and a few years later he and his then Creative Director Lina Kutsovskaya, who went on to launch Teen Vogue, were amongst the Continue reading

Keds at Opening Ceremony

Last night we did some event and party hopping and one of the places we landed was Eveleigh on Sunset (yes, where Dave makes those amazing drinks!) to get a closer look at the Keds Spring 2012 collection which I kind of died over. They did their first ever apparel pieces for Resort 2012 as a collaboration with Opening Ceremony, which hit stores exclusively last November. The new Spring 2012 Keds Apparel line has some sweet dresses I fell in love with including the one above Wyatt Hough drew me in. He was there amongst the cute slip ons and lace ups drawing guests in their favorite looks. That’s the little Bee I’ve been babysitting all weekend who he slipped in on the bottom there. My favorite dresses and shoes (and the real Bee) below… Continue reading

Ariat Fall 2012, Breeches to Die For (Hopefully Not…)

When I saw the fall 2012 lookbook from Ariat I flipped for their breeches (above) which I like to think are not limited to those who ride horses. I have a thing for anything related to horse riding (equestrian would be the official word) fashion wise anyway. I am guessing it’s because I have never Continue reading
