Leoluca Madrid Bag

Kind of obsessed with this bag from newcomers Leoluca. The LA-based girls who design the line are only in their second season but the bags are super cute and not pricey (this one is under $300!)

Simon Spurr Leaves His Own Label

WWD areported on Friday that menswear designer Simon Spurr has left his namesake label just a week after being nominated for the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year award alongside Patrik Ervell and Billy Reid. Simon, who founded the label with business partner Judd Nydes who helped finance the company, has been an up and coming designer for years, holding positions at Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Sad news but perhaps there is something bigger, better and brighter for the talented Simon up ahead. I love what he does and have been a fan since my own WWD days. His fall 2012 collection above.

Cri de Coeur Shoes

Speaking of pro-faux… Although I wear leather, when the opportunity arises to wear faux I jump at it. Last week I found this great line of vegan shoes at the COEUR trade show. Cri De Coeur is a really well done line of vegan shoes that are affordable, sexy and well designed. Above is the new stuff for fall 2012 which I love. They also do bags and jewelry and have stores all over the country and online.

Anne Valerie Hash Fall 2012

Anne Valerie Hash is one of my favorite French designers. She always nails that slouchy effortless chic thing we all love to perfection. Love the colors and easy breezy layers of masculin/feminin she did for her fall 2012 collection. More below… Continue reading

Pro Faux Day Look, Monday Lunch & Meetings

Happy Monday! I love a casual day look to start the week… I don’t like to say I am anti-fur but rather “Pro-faux” so am going to be sporting my favorite faux fur vest all day which bears an uncanny resemblance to this awesome one from Rebecca Taylor, on top of a blouse from Equipment, skinny trousers (cause that’s how I feel today) from Balenciaga and gorgeous leather (life is full of contradictions, deal with it) Christian Louboutin heels. And today just feels like a hat day (Maison Michel) and since it’s always sunny in LA, sunglasses from Michael Kors please…

Balenciaga Lambskin, Calfskin, Snakeskin Boots

There is a brown version of this Balenciaga boot from the Spring 2012 collection in stores now that I prefer much more but couldn’t find an image of online. This heel is pretty sick regardless. You can see two different brown versions of the boots in the runway shots below… Continue reading

Dolce Gabbana Kohl Collection

Dolce Gabbana‘s newest Kohl make up collection hit stores this month as did the ads for it with Felicity Jones (who I loved in the film “Like Crazy” last Sundance). That’s not Felicity above obviously, it’s a shot I did for Russian Elle of one of my favorite dresses from an old Dolce collection back in the spring of 2004 on the outskirts of Moscow. I saw that flower dress on the runway in Milan that season and built the entire shoot around it. I still love it. Those boys have a timelessness about them that never fades. Felicity Jones and the new make up (!!) below… Continue reading

Rachel Bilson & Wilson Bethel

Holy s***. This video rocks. Too funny. So last Sunday I styled Rachel Bilson and her own amazing stylist Nicole Chavez for their latest ShoeMint ad campaign (the new spring heels are killer! Can’t wait for the whole collection to show up on my doorstep!) We were chatting throughout the shoot about her new show Hart of Dixie which is one of my guilty pleasures much like Gilmore Girls used to be (don’t judge, Gilmore Girls was WAY subversive! All those Black Flag references and Sonic Youth playing in the background, not just the music but Kim and Thurston themselves with their Continue reading
