Charlotte Casiraghi for Gucci

I hate to jump on the band wagon but since it’s a pretty good one, I’m going for it. Seriously, making Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and granddaughter of Princess Grace of Monaco Gucci‘s newest spokesmodel for the brand’s “Forever Now” campaign (shot by Peter Lindbergh) is beyond genius. Probably the best ad campaign they’ve run in a long time. The brand is so historically iconic and this particular pairing makes a lot more sense than any celebrity or model. Suddenly I want myself a classic Gucci bag. So chic and grown up. I’m just saying…

Raven + Lily‘s eco and socially responsible lifestyle brand produces jewelry, paper goods and bath products handcrafted by women in developing nations encouraging fair trade and helping them support themselves and in order to celebrate International Women’s Day they’re offering 20% off their entire online collection of hand made products. I am obsessed with this recycled cotton journal and know exactly which best friend to get it for. We love cool ladies around here!

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012

And not a moment too soon… Yes, some of it is completely unwearable but that doesn’t make it any less fabulous. Sometimes it’s nice to just appreciate the art of fashion which Sara Burton at McQueen is great at doing. More McQueen fall 2012 below… Continue reading

Sacai Fall 2012

Have to admit I’m not excited by the images coming out of Paris from the designers that usually make me happy (YSL, Givenchy, Valentino, Celine). McQueen hasn’t shown yet so maybe there is hope yet but it’s the “younger” brands that are making me swoon this season. I love the perfect combo of masculin/feminin with just the right amount of soft and hard which Chitose Abe’s line Sacai hits perfectly for Fall 2012. The collection was launched in 1999 by Continue reading

Spiritualized, Hey Jane

Love this first single from Spriritualized’s upcoming album Sweet Heart Sweet Light out April 17th in the US. The band was formed by Jason Pierce and this is their 7th album though it’s all news to me…

Miguel Adrover Fall 2012

This is a little overdue since he showed his fall 2012 collection in NY a couple of weeks ago but I got a little overwhelmed and kept forgetting to post it even though I was really excited that Miguel Adrover is back! If you are old enough to you’ll remember that his namesake company was bought by Pegasus Apparel Group along with designers John Bartlett, Pamela Dennis and Daryl K over ten years ago. I can only guess that whatever nightmare ensued afterwards is Continue reading

Killer Heels

One of the great benefits of heels having risen in height to epic proportions is that they can now officially serve as weapons. Sure, it’s not news that a stiletto can kill (I think it’s the running joke in the Conde Nast building) but there is some comfort in knowing that should you need them the right heel or strategically placed spike can do some serious damage. Above, left to right, Christian Louboutin spiked heels, Alexander McQueen T strap platform, Guiseppe Zanotti razor sharp heel, and these Jeffrey Campbell studded ones that I am positive would actually just scare a man.
