Jill Greenberg‘s fifth solo show at Clamp Art, Glass Ceiling, is opening in NY on Thursday June 16th. For this series the LA-based photographer focused her camera on female athletes and dancers underwater. There will also be images of horses in an adjoining room and this Fall Rizzoli is publishing a book of Greenberg’s horse series. I love the color and light in these new underwater images, sexy, powerful and mysterious. The show runs through August 19th, 2011, Clamp Art, 521-531 West 25th St, NYC, (646) 230-0020. Gallery Hours are Tue-Sat 11am-6pm.

Soft Pipes, Stay Pretty

LA-based Anthony Polcino of Soft Pipes just put together an EP with five new songs which I am totally digging. There is no release date for the album yet but check out one of the tracks above. The EP has a sweet Velvet Underground meets Sonic Youth electronica vibe that I love. Soft Pipes is playing live at Satellite (Spaceland) in Silverlake this Thursday June 9th at 10pm.

Vi Peel at BHPS

Last Tuesday I was invited to try the Vi Peel at the infamous BHPS. I don’t think Botox or plastic surgery is right for me personally and I’ve often said I prefer alternatives to ease the signs of aging but a good hardcore peel is always welcome. And this was the Aston Martin of peels. It didn’t go on painfully or hurt at all throughout the entire process which lasted about a week. That may sound intimidating and drawn out but it’s really not. It didn’t affect my daily schedule or life a bit. Burak Uyan Event in Venice

Burak Uyan had an event in Venice this past week during the 54th Venice Biennale at the Hotel Baglioni and they brought three fabulous heels to show including the kickers above and a limited edition bag. Dying… All of these styles will be available at the hotel’s boutique Amaranto for Fall 2011. I am told there is a feature on Burak in one vip glossy glossy this August and the portrait I shot of him is supposed to be running. Cool. Kellan Lutz Charity T

Kellan Lutz just did a T-shirt to raise money for rebuilding homes in New Orleans through the Get on the Float – St. Bernard Project. He asked to use one of the photos I shot of him for a Blackbook shoot last year for the shirt. 100% of the proceeds will go to the charity and you can buy it online.
