So apparently Kate Middleton was wearing something similar to this the other day. I love this Tacori pendant either way (totally blown away by the intricate details) but since the Royal Wedding is only days away I figured I should shamelessly use this opportunity to mention, The Royal Wedding.

Oh Darling‘s new album is out today! Brave The Sound is the 3rd album from the LA-based, Portland-born foursome (yes, there are four of them, not just their lead singer Jasmine Ash above who I photographed for her solo project last year). I LOVE their sound and her pixie voice makes me happy and sad all at once, the best emotion music can induce in my opinion. A track from the new album above. Oh Darling is J.Marie Hall on bass, Jasmine on vocals, Daven Hall on guitar and Jake Endicott on drums. They’re playing a show this Saturday at Satellite in Silverlake with another one of my favorites, Anthony Polcino of Soft Pipes. Should be an amazing show, I will definitely be there.
Leave it to a stylist to get it perfectly right… Love these boots from Tabitha Simmons for Fall 2011. A fellow stylist who also studied film at university, Tabitha Simmons launched her namesake shoe line in March 2009 and has been killing it with sick stems ever since. These are just amazing.
Full disclosure, the shot above has nothing to do with Rag & Bone other than a certain vibe which I love and since I’m obsessed with David Neville & Marcus Wainright’s line any chance I get to talk about them, I will take it and run! I styled and photographed the shot above for WWD in 2008, which is also the year I bought my favorite Rag & Bone blazer that I still wear to death. They make great clothes for both guys and gals and today they launched their uber-cool blog. That was my excuse to write about Rag & Bone. Sexy clothes done in a subtle way by two hot guys. Done.
Ok, let’s be honest, there are probably about ten women in the world who could pull off these Valentino boots effortlessly and without looking like a stripper. But wouldn’t it be rad if we could be one of those women?? I mean, wow. These are nutz. Aside from parading around the house in these and your undies which would be fabulous enough for the men in our lives, imagine how hot they would be with the right dress, maybe something white belted with something brown… Or maybe something like below… wouldn’t this also be a great Royal Wedding look? (I had to get that in there somewhere, I’m sensing those two words are driving internet traffic the way certain reality show stars used to… I’m just sayin’) Don’t get me wrong, I’m as excited about the Royal Wedding as everyone else is, including my Diana obsessed mother (whose mother isn’t Diana obsessed?) And it will make me cry like everyone else because it really is crazy romantic. Anyway, I love the boots.

I have a total crush on the new creative director. Never met him, never seen a photo, don’t have to, am just completely in love with how his mind works. Bloomberg Business magazine’s creative director, Richard Turley is hot. End of story. This also plays into my theory that Mike Bloomberg, the greatest mayor NYC has ever known, can do no wrong. Just finished Tina Fey’s new book Bossypants and started on Gabrielle Hamilton’s memoir Blood, Bones and Butter, both of which are kind of blowing my mind in completely different ways. There is still nothing like crawling into a good book. Tina made me laugh my a** off (of course) and Gabrielle is making me want to rush sooner to that small cafe I’ve always wanted to open up in some out of the way spot… After I’m married and saddled with as many kids as pets.
