Erin Featherston, Suno, Elise Overland

Erin Featherston launches her new line Erin, above

Ok, full disclosure, I went to Elise Overland but left after 15 minutes just as the girls were starting to get on the ice. It looked like fun but I couldn’t handle the cold or being shoved against the speaker so went over to Milk Studios, which by the way, can we please just admit is not a good venue? It’s been three seasons now and the crowds and lines have not gotten any better and will only get worse. Yes, the space upstairs is lovely but otherwise, it doesn’t work. Anyway, the presentations upstairs were all beautiful. Erin Featherston launched her new line Erin which was full of great flowey dresses and tons of stuff to wear and obsess over. She has a way of doing party dresses like no one else.

Suno showed beautiful prints and plaids layered perfectly. I loved it. Billy Reid was in the Penthouse, I got obsessed with his tweeds and blazers for both men and women (photos later, my phone was dead by then). Really well done. The presentation was great as well, with the guys and girls quietly navigating the small parlor-like space they were given. Elise Overland above and Suno below.

The Lake & Stars

I ended up missing The Lake & Stars presentation because I was scrambling to catch up on some work yesterday. Instead we ended up going to the after party at the Gramercy Hotel last night, so I still got to say hi to Maayan Zilberman, one of the gals behind the line along with Nikki Dekker. I got obsessed with their lingerie two years ago while still at WWD. The line had just launched in Continue reading

Jason Wu Fall 2011

Love Jason Wu‘s well tailored ladies. Clean cut beautiful clothes with just enough sporty chic to make it wearable for everyone of any age. I still get blown away by how young he is (born 1982!)

Whit Fall 2011

This is Whitney Pozgay‘s third collection as WHIT. I love the cute dresses and the bird print created just for Whit by Jemme Aldridge. Whitney has had stints at Kate Spade and Steven Alan where she worked on his collaborations with Uniqlo and Urban Outfitters. Her presentation was held at Ross Bleckner’s studio which didn’t hurt either. Beautiful work on the walls as well… WHIT is Continue reading

Joy Cioci Fall 2011 Launch

There is nothing more exciting than seeing a launch collection that you know will make an impact. Joy Cioci‘s first namesake collection, shown yesterday at Lincoln Center, was packed with so many sophisticated and chic pieces it’s hard to believe this is her first one out of the gate. That said, Joy has been designing for a lot of years, with apprenticeships at Gucci, Carolina Herrera and Nina Ricci with Olivier Theyskens. I’m excited to see what she does from here on and have a feeling we will see her name again and again. Sublimely talented.

Amanda Pearl Fall 2011

Finally met the brains behind the talent of Amanda Pearl last night. Amanda Brotman launched her bag line three years ago. She used to be a dancer and kind of reminds me of all the art school girls I was friends with at Bard. Love her bags and am obsessed with that turquoise which is popping up everywhere.

New Jim Dine Paintings

Jim Dine had an opening for his new paintings at The Pace Gallery last night which I didn’t make it to because I was busy with fashion week shows and presentations… AND the GQ party where I waxed poetic to one of my all time favorite editors, Jim Nelson. I told him I would be happy to Continue reading
