Love this fresh idea. A smörgåsbord of choices to create your own sunglasses, right down to the engraved details (I got the skulls obviously). Kevin Hundert, whose family makes eyewear for everyone from Lucky and Converse to John Varvatos, just launched MADE eyewear last week, a site where you can build to order sunglasses with literally a 100,000 possible variations, from the various shapes, colors and sizes they offer (there is a shade of turquoise I fell in love with). Make it work.

It’s a project from W Hotels (“W Room and Board”) which launches June 26th, with a percentage of profits going to the youth foundation Stoked, curated by Ray Mendez a former Pro Action Sports Athlete turned filmmaker. Lately I’ve been thinking about all of the adventurous things I’ve done over the years that have brought me here. I’ve been giving a lot of thought to what is next and how all of the risks I’ve taken the last twenty years, all the seemingly “crazy” unconventional choices I have made have given me the strength to keep following my dreams, which at times is admittedly not easy to do. Got a box of postcards from Vogue (literally from Vogue) yesterday of great vintage covers. You can plaster your walls with them, frame them or actually use them as postcards (I still think handwritten thank you notes are very chic). The set also makes a great hostess gift for all those summer parties.
