I imagine it was an incredibly bittersweet moment for Sarah Burton who has taken over as head of design for Alexander McQueen after his tragic death earlier this year. Ms. Burton worked alongside McQueen for 15 years and has managed to maintain his voice while adding a distinctly feminine touch to her first collection. It’s beautiful and there must have been a few tears shed throughout and after because in the end, it’s still hard to look at the clothes and not be reminded that Alexander “Lee” McQueen is gone forever. Sadly and needlessly, one less true artist in the world.
