Kathy and I met almost fifteen years ago when I first moved to the East Village and she had just opened up her now infamous little shop on 3rd Street called Anna, named after her grandmother. I’ve been trading my photographs for her clothes for over ten years so in theory we each have an archive of each others’ work from the past decade. I love her designs, she has a knack for perfect simple dresses and separates that have just the right amount of a detail here and there, a ruche or a bias cut to make it just right. The pieces lasts for years too. I’ve had dresses and blazers of hers that I put away for a few seasons and brought out again and they feel just as current as when I first got them. I stopped by the store the other day and saw the cutest dresses for fall in great neutral tones like baby pink and nude. There was one in the window that drew me in as usual. If you are in the neighborhood stop by or call and order one from far away. www.annanyc.com
