Vintazia Vintage

There is a great new vintage nook in Hollywood. Susie Londoner started collecting vintage at 16 years old and a few weeks ago opened the doors to her home where she has created the perfect vintage shopping experience. Not only is the cozy space crammed with authentic vintage finds but the experience itself becomes more like shopping with your sisters with wine and cheese, cookies and coffee in between. Previously Susie had “invested in creating an eBay store but it was very time consuming and just not a lot of fun.” So she decided to create her ideal shopping experience. Prices range between $20 to $350 with a great mix of high and low end, select vintage pieces spanning every decade from the 20s to the 80s. I could have sat for hours drinking wine and listening to the ex-ballerina’s stories of years spent dancing with the New York City Ballet (1974 to 1985), with George Balanchine in the shadows. My favorite story by far was her first big role at age seven. “I was chosen as Clara for the Nutcracker at seven and my parents didn’t bring me to my 1st rehearsal because it was my brothers birthday so when I showed up the next day Mr. Balanchine said ‘sorry dear, you have to be at all the rehearsals’ and that was that… I knew it was a calamity. Not sure I recovered for 30 years…” She did however go on to many years in the ballet, which allowed for plenty of travel to find the hidden gems she has finally decide to share with the world. I even found a cute little white lace dress for $40 that I am obsessed with. If you go, tell her I sent you and she will give you the family friendly discount of 10% off your first purchase.
