Just in time for the five year anniversary of this little blog, last night the Dutch clothing line G-Star Raw and I hosted a dinner to celebrate their latest collection, Raw For The Oceans, a really fantastic idea developed and curated by Pharrell Williams, which Vice and i-D made a documentary about, above. Basically, they take plastic found in the oceans that is polluting our waters and turn it into fabric to use for their denim pieces, which were all on display last night. Kind of genius and brilliant all around. I couldn’t be prouder to support the idea and innovation plus the earth positive message of reduce, reuse, recycle. The dinner was packed with so many friends and familiar faces, a ton of great food prepared by Chef Luke Reyes at Butchers & Barbers, wine by Kenwood Vineyards and champagne from Perrier Jouet. Of course there were gift bags, which I stuffed with my favorite books, CDs, DVDs, and beauty products. Our talented gorgeous friend Katie Jones took the photos, which you can check out below along with all the goodies from the gift bags.
Guests sipped champagne from Perrier Jouet during cocktail hour, and got to browse and order from the Raw For The Oceans collection before sitting down to dinner with editors from WWD, InStyle, The Hollywood Reporter, LA Canvas, Malibu Magazine, Just Jared, as well as reporters from E!, stylists, actors, musicians and artists from every corner of LA.
Chef Luke Reyes made us a multi course extravaganza, which lasted from 8pm til well after 10pm

And then there was dessert and the gift bags, and an after party with LA Witch playing.
The gift bags were filled with CDs from Mute Records (Arca, Zola Jesus, M83, and Diamond Version) as well as Ex-Cops, who are also playing in LA next month at The Echo. The Imitation Game DVDs, Retrouve‘s unisex Nutrient Face Serum and Dynamic Nourishing Face Cream, Lilah B. Devine Duo Lip & Cheek gloss, Jurlique Herbal Recovery and Rosewater Balancing Mist, a fabulous Hollywood Cats book as well as Sex Sense And Nonsense, Felicity Green on the 60s Fashion Scene, fun beach towels from Sisters of Los Angeles, and sunglasses and apparel from G-Star.
