The Last Magazine in LA

NY cool kids Tenzin and Magnus from The Last Magazine made their West Coast debut last night at Milk Studios to celebrate their latest issue with a private dinner followed by a party for their friends (one of whom was Phillip Lim, kinda the coolest kid of all…) Swedish duo IconaPop did a rad DJ set and performance, I am officially obsessed with these gals. Meet your new electropop phenomenon.

Snoop Dogg at Levi’s Haus

Last night Snoop Dogg and 100 of his closest friends (no, I am not talking about myself although I was there and there are photos of me and Snoop Dogg below) listened to him spin some tunes amidst a contact high worthy crowd of fans, more friends and groupies at Levi’s Haus in West Hollywood. It was a serious blast and made up a little for my mostly music free Coachella weekend. This week is turning into a killer musical set on its own, tonight is another night of the Continue reading

Coachella Week in LA, Evening Look, Clean & No Dust

I love my Coachella adventures but am also quite excited to shower the dust off, get a blow out and event hop through all of the fun post/pre Coachella festivities happening around LA this week (and still keep a little rock n’ roll edge while doing it of course). Love the Doo Ri slouchy layered dress with sick (not hungover) Lanvin heels, Ashley Pittman bracelets and this Fendi bag I am dying over.

Au Revoir Simone’s Erika Spring

Erika Spring from Au Revoir Simone who I LOVE (she sings and plays keyboards) just signed with Cascine for the release of her first self-titled EP which comes out July 10th. I just heard a few of the tracks and they are amazing! Love the ethereal melancholy-joy quality of it plus there is a sweet synth pop surprise in the middle. Very excited to play the tracks driving back from the beach on a warm summer night…

Nora Kogan Jewelry

Nora Kogan was in LA from Brooklyn (via Australia via Russia) showing off some of her jewelry at the Chateau earlier today. I got attached to these rings which are stacked for display purposes only but I am kind of digging a stacked set lately. I recently pulled out a few of my favorite rings and have been wearing five of them on one finger which sounds hectic but actually works (it helps that three of them are my gold standard vine rings from Dean Harris’ first collection). Nora launched her line eight years ago and three years ago opened up a St. Kilda store in Park Slope with partner Karen Mancuso which also acts as her studio in the back. They make everything in NY and even do custom orders.

Treats Magazine Spring 2012, Estella Warren

Steve Shaw’s LA-based magazine Treats just released their Spring 2012 issue which features actress and model Estella Warren on its pages photographed by Steve himself. Estella and I did a shoot six months ago as well (one of my favorite shots is above) which you can see in its entirety here.

Deborah Turbeville for Russian Vogue & Valentino Spring 2012

I finally dug out the tear sheets from a Deborah Turbeville shoot I styled for the April 2000 issue of Russian Vogue. The shoot ended up in a recent book of photographs Deborah published with Rizzoli. It was shot at the Stables of Strelna in St. Petersburg Russia and looks a little like the spring 2012 Valentino ad campaign which Deborah also shot though clearly the ad campaign is a little brighter… The rest of our Vogue shoot and clips from the new ad campaign below. Coachella 2012

This year’s Coachella was more about the parties than the music for me (I know, I know, eye roll here please, I’m not proud of it either). But I usually work the festival covering fashion (last year it was for Marie Claire) and I don’t buy tickets because there’s really no point since I end up working and whoever is sending me tends to take care of logistics which means I spend all three glorious days on the festival grounds shooting and listening to the music which I live for. But this year I didn’t do any shoots and was planning on just coming for the Saturday afternoon BBQs that were going on all over the place. Our first stop was the Mulberry party (pics below) where everyone we know seemed to be, Continue reading

Alexander McQueen Clutch

It’s been a while since I’ve drooled over one of these McQueen clutches. Insane. I may have to buy one as a birthday present for myself this year. Unless someone else wants to surprise me…
