Sleigh Bells, Reign of Terror

The Sleigh Bells‘ second album Reign of Terror came out at the end of February. Love the tracks Crush and Comeback Kid. Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller epitomize the hard/soft sound I love, her lollipop voice and his brash guitar chords. I’m hooked. Click below for the video to Comeback Kid. Continue reading

Burak Uyan Fall 2012

LOVE the fall 2012 collection Burak Uyan just showed in Paris! Burak (top right) with his business partner and one of my old friends, Srdjan Prodanovic photographed at The Hotel Regina in Paris December 2010 above and more gorgeous stems from the new fall line below… Continue reading

Hayward Holding Company

I went to the Coeur show at the Cooper Building earlier this week. It’s a small curated trade show with some really great young designers which always gets me excited. You never know what gems you will find at these smaller shows so I find it’s worth going. That’s how I have stumbled upon so many fresh designs like these bags from Hayward Holding Company, based in Venice and just launching their first collection. Their bags are made from leather, repurposed military canvas and Continue reading

Fall 2012 Trends, The Bold & The Blue

Donna Karan and Imitation of Christ above, there was a lot of satin and men’s suiting all over the fall runways, and the one shoulder look which I LOVE! Also up to there slits in skirts which is so sexy (see my favorite polaroids from our Imitation of Christ fittings below, the sexiest dress…) No need to reiterate that blue was a big color this season. I am so on that bandwagon, can not get enough of navy and black paired together which was shown in a lot of collections. Continue reading

Dana James, Artist

I was doing a meeting earlier this week at my new agency and one of the offices had this amazing painting on the wall, turns out it was NY based artist Dana James who graduated from SVA in 2008. I like her work a lot, it has that ethereal abstract fluidity I love in painting. She is also a freelance make up artist which makes a lot of sense, her colors are phenomenal. I want to work with her…

A.F. Vandevorst Fall 2012

Ok let’s just say it… a lot of the Paris shows were a disappointment this season. Not sure what the big houses are thinking or going through but there wasn’t a lot to inspire or shout about from the rooftops so thankfully the old Avant Garde hasn’t lost its reliable touch. A.F. Vandevorst’s fall 2012 is breathtakingly beautiful. I love all the layers and knits and subtle drops of satin. More below… Continue reading

Heels to Obsess Over… Stripes, Patterns & Peep Toes Galore

I like to call it shoe porn myself. Nothing like a good peep toe or ankle strap to tease someone… Charlotte Olympia’s Meredith striped wedge sandal, Chrissie Morris ankle strap peep toe heels, Guiseppe Zanotti peep toe booties and totally to die for Oscar de la Renta peep toe boots.

Levi’s Made the Perfect Coachella Dress

Officially it’s called ‘The Farm Dress’ which translates easily into ‘The Coachella Dress’. While I was doing a pull for a client last week at the Levi’s showroom in West Hollywood I discovered this gem on their racks and obviously had to have it for my Coachella wardrobe (only a few weeks out from the festival!) Nothing says hot, sweaty, music festival than the perfect white cotton dress with just the right amount of flare and detail so you look good but don’t want to pass out. My favorite Coachella accessories as well as advice on what to pack and what to leave behind are below… Continue reading

Ruby Aldridge Photos

The good thing about signing with a new agent is, well, signing with a new agent that understands you and your work. The bad thing is having to sort through hundreds of photos which feels like thousands of photos to organize images for the agency website. The other good thing is stumbling on old shoots you thought you had lost… and then realizing that you may as well have lost them because the file is so small and since it was your first shoot on a digital camera and you hadn’t learned about raw files versus large files versus original files and keeping all of them safe and sound so you just have to accept that this early Ruby Aldridge shoot from fall of 2007 will never go Continue reading

Decades & Modern Vintage Shoes

Last night Decades‘ Cameron Silver co-hosted a soiree with Emmy Rossum and Gilt.com to celebrate the launch of his shoe collaboration with Modern Vintage. The limited edition capsule collection of women’s shoes references styles from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s, with a modern twist (see above) and is available as of today at the West Hollywood boutique as well as online. Lots of familiar faces we love were present and just as many heels to covet…
