A Front Row Seat

Speaking of Paris fashion week… Kirstin Sinclair’s book, A Front Row Seat which came out in December is a fun romp through all the great fashion week angles we love. From backstage to the front row and the streets overflowing with models after the shows, it’s a great scrapbook of flavor straight from the catwalks. Lots of familiar faces from every corner of the fashion world and every side of the business; buyers, editors and celebrities alike from the runways of new York, Milan, Paris and London. More pics from the book below… Continue reading

Lanvin Fall 2012

I love Alber Elbaz. Lanvin is always beautiful and I am kind of bummed I am not in Paris for his 10th anniversary show. I was at his first show for Lanvin right after he was fired from YSL which I didn’t understand then and I still don’t understand now but whatever, it has always been entirely YSL’s loss because he has been killing it at Lanvin for a decade. Cheers to that! He is one of the most Continue reading

Nina Ricci Fall 2012

Love this though I’m still dying over the pre fall collection and can’t understand why Nina Ricci‘s Peter Copping didn’t save some of that for the runway (were they waiting for a stylist to pull those gowns for Awards season? Which would have made sense if more than one stylist had done that… If my ladies were nominated they would have been decked out head to toe in Nina Ricci pre fall) Anyway, I digress. Thankfully fall 2012 has a lot of the same romantic pretty elements I keep fawning over from pre fall. Oh and yes, we are pretending that all signs of fur above are faux…

Rubin Chapelle Fall 2012

I missed the Fall 2012 presentation that Rubin Chapelle did during fashion week but peeked into the store on 14th street while I was in town to say hello to Sonja and Kip who I’ve known for over a decade now. We used to do a summer share in Fire Island starting in 1999, the summer I met them through my friend Markus while assisting Polly Mellen. We did that share a few summers in a row and even though it was a long trek out to the house Continue reading

Nabiha in LA

This past Saturday amidst Oscars madness I photographed and styled Danish born and now London based singer/songwriter Nabiha Bensouda a few hours before her first show in LA. She has a really powerful beautiful voice and I am obsessed with her music. She was fun and great to work with and we did everything above and below in an hour on top of my friend’s Continue reading
