Balenciaga Spring Summer 2012

Love love love the shapes and colors of Balenciaga. Some of those bigger skirts and dresses at the end remind me of my favorite Rei Kawakubo Comme des Garcons shows from ages ago. I don’t know how but these shapes as shapeless as they seem are actually so sexy. Amazing. Continue reading

Carven Spring Summer 2012

Speaking of the blue and black color trend I am loving so much right now… Carven had it all over their Spring Summer runway yesterday in Paris. Aside from the cute dresses I’m obsessing over the shorts and blazers. So chic and sexy this whole short pantsuit with heels thing. Continue reading

Again

Young LA-based designer Amber Kekich-Purling launched her line Again in the Fall of 2011 and has since continued on a steady course of creating cool, wearable, affordable contemporary designs with a great fashion forward edge. Though only in her third season her designs continue to evolve with great cuts, sheer fabrics and plenty of vintage inspired ideas. I love her most recent collection for Spring Summer 2011, a sneak peek of the muted color palette and slightly off kilter cuts that translate beautifully on the body, above. More from Fall 2011 below… Continue reading

Molton Brown Scents Launch

Molton Brown launched their first fragrance collection earlier this month but I just got around to smelling the samples they sent me today… There are five scents in all, exclusively available at Saks Fifth Avenue though I think my favorites are Apuldre and LiJiang. They all have a great sexy spicy scent to them which I love, with a gender neutral effect, equally fun for both men and women.

Josephus Thimister Spring Summer 2012

I am so glad Josephus Thimister is back! I used to love his line and it was always one of my favorite things about Paris Fashion Week. This is only his second season after an extended hiatus and as usual his Belgium blend of hard and soft, masculin and feminin, is brilliant. I love it!

Day Look, Casual, Fall is Here…

A cozy VPL knit pullover, a pleated Mulberry skirt, tall gorgeous Bellstaff leather riding boots and a Miu Miu bag all make for a great casual day look for fall in the city.

More Spring Summer 2012 Trends

I love that Prada (below right) had a look similar to ours at Imitation of Christ, the off the shoulder blazer. And everyone from Marni to Marc Jacobs did the slouchy pantyhose sock this season which is pretty rad since we showed them at the beginning of NYFW. We hit a lot of trends all in one swoop. Dolce Gabbana’s blue dress above and that’s Marni on the left and Marc Jacobs on the right further below. Also, more fringe from Imitation and D Squared… Continue reading
