Chanel Resort 2012

I bet you didn’t even notice that another season was upon us. Yeah, neither did I until I saw these shots from the Chanel resort show earlier this month. I love when Chanel manages to get just the right combo of old and new, with a perfect blend of their iconic classics and todays jet set twist.

Amor Y Amargo

A collaboration between Bittermen’s, Derossi Global, and Cienfuegos, Amor Y Amargo opened up its small bar space just a few weeks ago. It’s the same guys who opened Bourgeois Pig and Death & Company down the street. Tristan and Nick who work the bar will pour you an Americano cocktail (a perfect blend of sweet vermouth and Campari, one of my favorite things to order on ice that people sometimes look at you funny for ordering) or any one of the other specialty cocktails they’ve come up with. For snacks there is a small but fun bar menu which includes pickled eggs, white bean salad with oil poached tuna, crispy garbanzo with Morcilla, and Continue reading

Suki Vegan Beauty

I finally started using the Sukiexfoliate foaming cleanser they sent me months ago and I love it! It goes on a little rough but with a tad of water it foams and lathers really well and leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean with just a touch of moisture. It has a little bit of alpha hydroxy acid in the sugar along with rice flour & organic lemongrass which seems to balance everything out.

Indah

Obsessing over these knit swimsuits from Indah. Not sure how they will react to actual water but since I rarely actually get in the water I’m not too worried. I just think they’ll look great this summer by the pool, on a chair, while I sip a mojito. No, I’m not really a surfer girl (yet…) Continue reading

One Year Anniversary Dinner with Nicolas Feuillatte

This past Saturday evening some of my friends joined me for a small rooftop dinner party to celebrate the one-year anniversary of this blog. Really it was more of an excuse to gather the flock and sample some amazing champagne paired with great food. France’s number one champagne company Nicolas Feuillatte threw the fete and were gracious enough to keep us doused in champagne all through the night. We paired the non-stop Continue reading

Sara Berman Bag

I am obsessed with this Sara Berman bag! You can get it at various boutiques in LA, NY and London but the easiest route is through their website. They also do great leather bombers.

Clinton Street Bakery Cookbook

I can’t (or maybe won’t?) follow a recipe but still manage to own a lot of cookbooks. They give me ideas and I love the promise of a good recipe. And sometimes, when extremely motivated like with the Hotel De Crillon flourless chocolate cake which I sometimes make for a special man in my life, I will actually sort of follow the directions. The infamous Clinton Street Bakery which is only a few blocks from my place on the Lower East Side has been one of NYC’s go to brunch places for years. I’ve had their cakes, croissants and pancakes and the slew of homemade sauces, burgers and what Continue reading

Ryan McGinness in LA

Ryan McGinness is having an LA moment. Really an LA month. The NYC based artist has several shows coming up this month on the West Coast including “Works on Paper” opening at Country Club on Friday May 20th and another larger show, “Trophies” opening at Prism gallery on Thursday May 26th. There are a slew of other events from him within that period that also sound intriguing.
