Road tripping has become my favorite hobby so instead of flying to LA for Awards Season I decided to drive cross country again, stopping in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma City, and Albuquerque on the way to fittings and Golden Globes events. My first stop was on the Upper East Side to pick up half a dozen Delphine Manivet dresses for Nikki Deloach that arrived from Paris for our fitting. From there I went to Baltimore for the holidays, and the morning after Christmas drove to Nashville, where I met a ton of great people, photographed the local stylish kids, and tried as much hometown food as I could. In Memphis I hit the Red Velvet Vintage shop as well as it’s sister store Crazy Beautiful (no relation to the film) and a couple of great used book stores and record stores in Cooper Young, as well as my new favorite road food at Central BBQ. We’re off to cook, bake, eat and drink, and shower our friends and family with gifts before hitting the highway for The Road Trip To The Red Carpet, my drive from NY to LA for Awards Season. I’m driving through Nashville, Memphis, and Houston for local street style, music, food and young designers, gathering dresses for the girls to wear on the red carpet, and of course lots of photographs. There is a Winona film screening at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City this January. Thank God. It is criminal that she doesn’t have a film every year. The full list of films, including Ms. Ryder’s Experimenter, which I am very excited for, below. Ten Thousand Saints is high on my list of anticipation as well and the documentaries are really through the roof this year, though to be fair, they kind of always are but when you see the list it always seems even better than the year before. Noah Lennox, a founding member of Animal Collective and fellow Baltimore native, is releasing another solo album as Panda Bear, “Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper,” on January 13, 2015. This track, Boys Latin (the all-boys school rival to Park and McDonogh no doubt), was released onto the world wide web today, much to our delight. It’s an electro-airy track that should lighten and brighten your Monday morning no matter which coast you happen to be pulling your sweater on.
