Rossy’s Bakery & Cafe

A little obsessed with the old school cakes at Rossy’s Bakery & Cafe which opened on 3rd street between Ave B and C on the Lower East Side, a few blocks from my place. They do all kinds of stuff with vanilla sugar frosting and stuff you ate with your grandmother. And they have free Wifi which comes in handy since mine is out… 242 East 3rd Street NYC, 212.253.2424.

Tess Giberson Fall 2011

Completely obsessed with Tess Giberson‘s new collection. She amazes me. The cuts and fabrics are gorgeous and well thought out. The presentation was seamless as well. Tess told me she worked with a great team of friends and colleagues who helped construct the setting and the music. I love this girl, she is relentlessly talented. Gladys Perint Palmer

Gladys Perint Palmer, Executive Director of the School of Fashion at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, is not only a journalist and illustrator but also a living legend. I met her ten years ago in my first season as Fashion Editor for Russian Vogue in Paris (below is an illustration she did of me around that time). In 1998, The Fashion Book (Phaidon Press) named GPP one of 500 people of influence in fashion since 1860 and in 2003, Assouline published Fashion People, a book of her drawings. This season Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is using her fashion illustrations for all of their Fall 2011 graphics. www.gladysperintpalmer.com

A Letter From Sid To Nancy…

Wow. I had to reprint it. Amazing history attached to that letter. Kind of cool that someone has it, namely Jeff Nolan, curator of Hard Rock’s memorabilia vaults. This letter was apparently written by Sid to Nancy a few months before she was murdered and he overdosed.
