Lykke Li’s New Video

Lykke Li‘s new video for “I Follow Rivers” is pretty fantastic. It stars Swedish Lebanese actor Fares Fares and is directed by Tarik Saleh. Not only does it take after Andrei Tarkovsky‘s “The Sacrifice” in mood and tone but it was also shot on the same location, the island of Gotland. Kind of obsessed with this song. On a side note, Tarkovsky’s “The Mirror” has always been one of my favorite films.

Black Tea Age-Delay Serum

While at Sundance I tried the new Black Tea Age-Delay Serum from Fresh, which hit stores this month. I like the texture of it and as usual, am obsessed with anything that isn’t too smelly. I also tried the Sugar Lip Experience while visiting the suite which I loved as well. That was the only time I spent in the gifting suites. Instead I saw fourteen phenomenal films over the course of several days for a magazine I was writing for (more on that later). Sundance is basically heaven for me…

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring 2011

Beyond. Love this. Who is brave and cool enough to wear something from Jean Paul Gaultier‘s Couture collection to the Oscars next month? Would be fun to play with fashion on a grand scale.

Headscarves & Me… Ferragamo for Spring 2011

One of my fellow editors at FashionEtc asked me to experiment with the headscarf look that was on runways for Spring 2011 and I have to admit, I’m kind of obsessed with it now. Who knew?? It never would have occurred to me to try it on my own so I’m kind of grateful someone shoved me out of my fashion comfort zone for a minute. Salvatore Ferragamo Spring Summer 2011, above.

Lesands, ‘Restless Lover’

Lesands – Restless Lover by buzzbands

This is a track I am obsessing over from Lesands, a one year old band out of San Diego that just released their the latest EP, Sweet Skin. Love the old school 80’s synth sound.

Parisian Chic: A Style Guide

“Parisian Chic: A Style Guide” by the fashion icon Ines de la Fressange is packed with French style wisdom, ageless beauty and fashion tips and Ines’ own drawings and photographs. Rizzoli is releasing the book in April along with “HOW TO BE A MAN: A Guide To Style and Behavior For The Modern Gentleman” By Glenn O’Brien with Illustrations by Jean-Philippe Delhomme which I think I’m going to start leaving copies of at bars and restaurants in LA so the locals can get some tips…

Exit Through The Gift Shop

“Exit through the Gift Shop” by Banksy and Jaimie D’Cruz got nominated for an Oscar yesterday for Best Feature Documentary. So exciting! I loved it and am happy to have another reason to reminisce about what an amazing film it is. You can watch the whole film above if you haven’t seen it yet.

Devil’s Double

My favorite film at this years Sundance festival is Devil’s Double directed by Lee Tamahori. I saw it Sunday night and it was absolutely phenomenal. Beyond. I got to wax poetic about how much I loved it to the lead actor himself, Dominic Cooper, last night at the Carrera party. Dominic plays both Saddam Hussein’s son Uday and the Iraqi army officer Latif Yahia who was forced to Continue reading

Like Crazy

No words. Am beyond obsessed with this film. If you’ve ever loved or hated love… painful and beautiful, the relationship you couldn’t let go of. “Like Crazy” starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones, directed by Drake Doremus is the best film I’ve seen so far and will surely entice a blood bath with buyers and distributors who want it. Commercial and indie all at once, a dream for everyone all around… I am still queasy from the emotional ride (in a good way…)
