The Foodie and Fred & Ginger in Paris

Food is obviously one of the great things about Paris so when you come here you have to put all dietary restrictions aside and live a little. I’ve never had a problem with that and will be the first to say that a couple of extra pounds is well worth the pleasure of enjoying great food and wine every once in a while. For years I have given my list of foodie stops in Paris to friends traveling here for the first time. There are several places on my list and each time I go I add a new one. Ecstatic Peace Library

Thurston Moore, legendary musician, Sonic Youth band mate and husband of music goddess and painter Kim Gordon, just started a small publishing house called Ecstatic Peace Library and they have a slew of amazing art books, all done in editions of 500. Kim Gordon’s book The Noise Paintings is available online now. I photographed Kim Gordon at their Massachusetts home years ago and was in absolute awe of both of them. Even though they were super cool and we had some old friends from the DC music scene in common I was like a wide-eyed kid in a candy store. I still have all my old Sonic Youth vinyl in a milk carton. I’m dying for a copy of the photo book Party With Me Punker: Early 80s Southern California Hardcore Scene by Dave Markey and Jordan Schwartz.
