Chairlift, I Belong In Your Arms

I am one debut album late to the party but totally newly in love with Brooklyn based duo Chairlift. Two tracks off their second album Something which is out this month. They remind me a little of Everything But The Girl but less dance more pop and all good.

Rodarte, Don Giovanni, LA Phil

The Rodarte sisters, Kate and and Laura Mulleavy are doing the costumes for a production of Don Giovanni by the L.A. Philharmonic this Spring. Performances begin in May! Above are sketches of what the sisters did for the Black Swan film in 2010 which MOCA exhibited last year. Genius.

Sundance 2012, Last Day of Films

Sadly I had to come home at some point so yesterday was my last day of films at Sundance and they were good ones. Price Check with Parker Posey who I ADORE. She plays a raving lunatic bitch boss and does it brilliantly. Why is she not in more films these days? Whatever, I am glad she is back and want more more more of her. Safety Not Guaranteed was FANTASTIC!! I am kind of obsessed with the guy from The New Girl, Jake M Johnson, who plays the journalist and Continue reading

Dinner with Adrian Grenier, SHFT & Ford

That was a perfect Sundance. With the exception of two films I really wanted to see and didn’t get a chance to (“Celeste & Jesse Forever” and “The Surrogate”) I saw 16 films that I loved and ended the week with last night’s dinner at Fiore hosted by Adrian Grenier and Peter Glatzer for SHFT.com with co-hosts Ford and the W Hollywood Residences. SHFT has a ton of great programming and products that are environmentally friendly and promote ecological living and sustainability. I love what they are doing. The environment has been a passion of Continue reading

Sundance Day 4 (Maybe 5, it’s Getting Blurry)

First, I need to wax poetic about how much I love the communal spirit of Sundance and all that good film lovers energy. I can’t even count how many times strangers have picked me up this week when I missed my theater loop shuttle or got off at the wrong stop to get me to a screening on time (don’t tell mom because hitchhiking is not cool!) And yes, the volunteers (all 1850 of them) are beyond amazing. These are the people that are even more obsessed with Continue reading

Sundance Day 3, Books Are Cool

Saw so many films I loved today! And a few with the running theme of books and book stores, love it! Started this morning (after a very late night with friends at the Chef Dance dinner, pics below, no idea how I made it from Deer Valley to the Eccles in time) with a 9am screening of Liberal Arts starring, written and directed by Josh Radnor. The perfect happy/sad melancholy blend for an old Continue reading

Sundance Day 2, Fashion in the Snow

I know I’m a stylist and by nature a slave to fashion but when I was a lowly film student at Bard college going to Sundance was a dream of mine so being here the past four years is literally a dream come true. I’m like a kid in a candy story when I pick up my credentials and start organizing my screening schedule (which, by the way, is no easy feat, ask anyone who has had to juggle the Sophie’s choice of which films to squeeze in and which ones to reluctantly skip). That said, my least Continue reading

Fresh Sugar Lip

I wrote about the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment last year and actually spent this past year obsessively using the Rose gloss which is amazing! So when I saw Rose (that’s also the name of Fresh’s rad pr gal from NY) as I was going to see the Sorel girls I had to stop by and snag some. Thanks Rose!
