Jerrod Blandino at Too Faced has been making PYTs look even prettier for fourteen solid years. The fall collection, which hit stores earlier this month, includes a Matte and Smokey eye palette collection both with the brand’s signature ‘how to’ insert for easy application. They also have en eye shadow primer that I am obsessing over. It goes on like silk and really does bring out the color once you apply the eye shadow over it. It’s available online and at Sephora. Love it!
I love subtle neutral tones together. If I had a didn’t have a budget this is what my look for the first day of NYFW would be. A Mulberry dress, sky high sleek Christian Louboutin heels with a neutral baby pink Valentino tote to tie it all together and a bit of edge with an Ugo Cacciatori Wolf ring.

13 – World Of Regret by Ford & Lopatin
Ford & Lopatin‘s “Too Much MIDI (Please Forgive Me)” and “World of Regret”. Daniel Lopatin and Joel Ford do lots of cool things together including these tracks and a label called Software out of Brooklyn. Their debut LP, Channel Pressure, came out on June 7th so this may be old news to some.
Timo Weiland, one of New York’s most talented young designers, just did a collaboration with Tsubo that launches in stores January 2012. I love Timo’s dapper sensibility and his eye for shapes and colors. He and I met this past Spring at Coachella where we stayed at the same house in Indio with some mutual friends from NYC. We became fast friends and musical buddies, wandering the grounds of sound, bouncing from one amazing stage to the next for three days. His taste in music is similar to mine so it wasn’t hard to decide what to listen to and where to go and wherever we ended up we were happy to be there. Kind of like the vibe you get from his collections and Timo himself. Sublime. I can’t wait to see the new collection next weekend in NYC! Fall 2011 below… Continue reading
I Break Horses – Winter Beats by Bella Union
I Break Horses is Swedish musician Maria Lindén. “Winter Beats” is an awesome fluid electro-synth filled track from her forthcoming debut, Hearts being released on Bella Union. The photo above is of one of my awesome goddaughters taken last year on Halloween.
I may not officially be going back to school (does fashion week count?) but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a cute pleated skirt or a proper school girl look with a twist (always with a twist!) I love any excuse to don a silk blouse and play demure. Carven‘s silk tie front blouse with Alexander McQueen’s pleated Skirt paired with a classic J.Crew blazer is ideal for a September day in the city. I also love this gorgeous tote from Fendi! Speaking of amazing music (and someone who knows how to look good as well…) Another rad Lana Del Ray (aka Lizzy Grant) track. Let’s hope this video doesn’t get taken down from YouTube before it can be fully enjoyed by the world. You can still see the video for “Video Games” here. Her album “Kill Kill” came out in January on Five Points Records and is available on iTunes and other sites. She self released the song I am totally obsessed with “”Video Games” earlier this month and there is some color vinyl of it coming out on October 9th, just in time for my birthday…

She has a way of creating just the right balance between feminine, wearable and cool.
