Painting of a Girl in Green

There is some sort of green theme going on with me today so I am just going with it… I found this amazing painting yesterday at the Rose Bowl and am completely in love with it! I am sure it has no monetary value but I just love the image and colors. It’s signed by Gail 1961. So cool…

Ross Bleckner in East Hampton

DAP is hosting a conversation between artist Ross Bleckner & novelist Frederic Tuten in East Hampton this Thursday from 5-7pm if you happen to be in the hood (which frankly, I wish I was… am still craving a nice East Coast vacation since the last one was null and void). Both Mr. Bleckner and Mr. Tuten have new books out, Bleckner’s Our Lives in the New York Times, and Tuten’s latest book of short stories, Self Portraits: Fictions. Bleckner’s book explores the juxtaposition of luxury and news on the pages of The New York Times with nearly three decades’ worth of page A3 and Tiffany ads. ARTBOOK + R/TURPAN at 63 Main Street, 2nd floor, East Hampton, NY 11937.

Delfina Delettrez Rings

There is something about bugs and skulls and butterflies that still floats my boat. As they say, if its missing something, put a bird on it… Love these rings from Delfina Delettrez. One more below… Continue reading

Oscar Clutch

So obsessed with the Oscar de la Renta Grafton clutch which thankfully doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. I love when a designer finds a gorgeous staple and reintroduces it with new colors season after season. Total lust. They’re little works of art, seriously. Older styles below… Continue reading

Kate Moss’s Wedding Album

I think it’s safe to say if you weren’t at this wedding you can officially consider yourself a fashion nobody. Even George Cortina, the first stylist I ever assisted back in 1997 (who got to torture me for over a year) was there. These Mario Testino shots are really pretty, the wedding looks insane. Ugh, I want to get married like this! There I said it. More pics here and below… Continue reading

Edmundo Castillo

Obsessing over these heels from Edmundo Castillo. Apparently these ones are already sold out but maybe one of you can find them somewhere. Lots of other rad options to covet though…

Missoni for Target

OMG, this is the coolest bike I have ever seen. You could not pay me enough to get on a bike and actually ride it around for fun (unless it has Harley written on it and a hot guy in front…) but I would be willing to consider it for this particular bike which is from the upcoming Missoni collaboration for Target. I mean really? I bet it sells out in an hour. Check out all the other cool stuff they are doing, not just clothes but home and accessories too. The laptop case is to die for. I must have it immediately. The collection hits stores September 13th! Continue reading

Eugenia Kim

Love Eugenia Kim‘s “Kurt” hat in bronze with Pheasant Feather. Eugenia has been making hats for as long as I’ve known her, which at this point may be over a decade so not worth adding up the years. She used to have a little shop down the street from me in NYC on East 4th street and in the summers she threw BBQs in her small backyard. I think it was Kathy Kemp from Anna who introduced Eugenia and I back then. She had just started her hat line and quickly exploded because her hats were really that good. I am having a moment with hats myself so this one got me excited.

S.N.O.B.

A year ago my best friend and I were catching up over a glass of wine and reviewing the events of the week. The subject of boys is always a hot one right after we’ve covered the subject of work (or maybe before work depending on the day and the boy… and the work…) As we reviewed the latest shenanigans of whoever was in our vicinity we realized our taste in men was not always as good as our taste in shoes, or clothes or books, art, music, food, etc… You get the idea. So we made a pact to become snobs. Not the kind that shun people because of social status or looks but the kind that are more selective about who we let into our personal lives. Especially men. We decided we deserve the best. Honest, respectful, appreciative, straightforward, positive, men and friends in general who would love us and allow us to love them in a positive supportive way. That’s what S.N.O.B. is. A small reminder we wear close to our hearts of who we are and what we are worth. The S.N.O.B. necklace is on sale here as well as Satine online and at the Satine boutique in West Hollywood.
